When my family and I moved to Long Island's North Shore a few years ago, one of the first things I did was reach out to local papers. Soon after, I was asked to take photos of the girls basketball team in Northport. At that time, I didn't even know where Northport was and frankly, didn't have much interest in girls basketball.
Since that time, I have become something of an institution on not only the Long Island High School sports scene, but also shooting large-scale events across the island, for which I've also won awards - Memorial Day parades, political rallies and marches, polar plunges, major fireworks displays and concerts to name just a few. And oh by the way, I was one of three to be named Sportwriter of the Year in 2022 and 2024 for the entire state of New York. I have also won a dozen awards for photography over the past four years.
Nobody can do as much as I or as well, in the arena of covering high school/youth athletics in this area.
